Split-innings Format in Domestic Cricket Season


Cricket Australia has announced split-innings format will be played in the 2010-11 season in the National One-Day Cup.

The fifty overs format divides into two blocks, in the first block, both the teams will play 20 overs and in the second block, both teams will play 25 overs.

Queensland and Tasmania will play first match in this format on October 6 at the Gabba. Cricket Australia released 2010-11 domestic schedules today.

Cricket Australia Chief, James Sutherland said “We are excited by the new concepts set to be trialed in interstate cricket this summer and look forward to public comment the split-innings format is set to create.”

Townsville, Bunbury and Burnie teams will play in the National One-Day Cup. Final matches of this Cup will be held on March 17-21.
