ICC Seeks Independent Commissioner for Pakistan Spot-fixing Scandal


Three Pakistani cricketers weren’t punished in the spot- fixing scam, the ICC said that an independent commissioner appointed to go to everything and the players can make their views known before him.

The players - Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir - have the right to prohibit the temporary suspension and a further opportunity to defend the charges at a full hearing before an independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal.

Pawar said that they did not punish anybody yet. He noticed that under the ICC anti-corruption rules, the suspected players needed to have been notified and an investigation conducted.

Earlier, Pakistan High Commissioner, tried to inform that Pawar may have at hand in getting Butt, Amir and Asif were suspended and claiming that the ICC will try to make Pakistan a scapegoat of its inefficiency.

The ICC has confirmed that cash for no ball accused have been officially notified of the crimes they have committed and have been provisionally suspended pending a decision on those charges.
