Sri Lanka World Cup winning coach Dav Whatmore on Monday said, fixing is a threat to curb, through proper education for youngsters.
The former Sri Lanka and Bangladesh coach who has taken responsibility for junior Bengal cricket on Monday, said: We need to educate the younger player’s lots about this (fixing).
He also defended the International Cricket Council and said that the apex body is doing everything in its capacity.
Pakistan captain Salman Butt and the pacer duo of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer's roles in the recent Lord's Test against England are being probed by the Scotland Yard and the ICC.
During Lord's Match, Asif and Aamer allegedly bowled three no-balls after taking bribes from a bookie. Imran said such things didn't happen during the 10 years he was head of the Pakistan team.
Also coach of Kolkata Knight Riders, Whatmore said that their new recruit Mohammad Irfan, an imposing 7-foot-1-inch tall Pakistan pacer, is very impressive.
