England vs Pakistan final Test was delayed due to rain in the opening day of the test match at Lord's. The rain was stopped 20 minutes before the kick-off time 10:00 GMT.

Over the past 24 hours, rain and poor light delayed the start of the fourth test between England and Pakistan. The rain began once again at 10:20 am and the ground staff brings the covers back on the ground.

Zimbabwe Accepted For Pakistan Tour

Zimbabwe Cricket chief, Ozias Bvute confirmed that they accepted the principle of the tour of Pakistan, but insisted that players would not be forced to take part.

In Pakistan, there have been no international matches held from the terrorist attack bus on Sri Lankan team in March 2009. Recently, Pakistan has suffered a lot due to floods and seeking to provide assistance in collecting funds to help victims of natural disasters.

Earlier, New Zealand rejected the Pakistan’s offer to come and play in Pakistan. However, Zimbabwe has agreed for the Pakistan offer.

Zimbabwe management is still discussing with Pakistan for the security arrangements around the tour and will finalized in the second week of September.

ICC Revealed LG People’s Choice Awards

On Monday, International Cricket Council announced the list of five cricketers for the LG People’s Choice Award category at LG ICC Awards to be held in Bangalore, India, on 06 October.

The short-list includes Sachin Tendulkar from India, Mike Hussey from Australia, Andrew Strauss from England, Mahela Jayawardene from Sri Lanka and AB de Villiers from South Africa.

Split-innings Format in Domestic Cricket Season

Cricket Australia has announced split-innings format will be played in the 2010-11 season in the National One-Day Cup.

The fifty overs format divides into two blocks, in the first block, both the teams will play 20 overs and in the second block, both teams will play 25 overs.

Queensland and Tasmania will play first match in this format on October 6 at the Gabba. Cricket Australia released 2010-11 domestic schedules today.

Cricket Australia Chief, James Sutherland said “We are excited by the new concepts set to be trialed in interstate cricket this summer and look forward to public comment the split-innings format is set to create.”

Townsville, Bunbury and Burnie teams will play in the National One-Day Cup. Final matches of this Cup will be held on March 17-21.

Pakistan Finalized ODI & T20 Squad for England

On Tuesday, Pakistan selectors announced their squad for next month's two Twenty20 and 5 ODI matches against England.

Pakistan selectors did not select former captain, Younus Khan. Pakistan cricket board has lifted the one-year ban against Younus Khan.

At present, Pakistan is playing 4 test series against England. Pakistan lost in first two tests and won in third test. Pakistan selected the top performers in the earlier matches.

All-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the squad in the limited over series. The 16-man team will be the same for ODI’s and T20.

Andrew Flint off Ready for T20 Match against Australia

New Zealand Rejected Offer from Pakistan

New Zealand Cricket CEO, Justin Vaughan has refused the suggestion that the New Zealand team will play matches in Pakistan to raise funds for flood victims.

On Monday, Justin Vaughan said that New Zealand is not going to play any matches in Pakistan and they canceled the Pakistan’s offer.

PCB spokesman, Nadeem Sarwar told on Sunday that his organization had received an email from Cricket New Zealand offers to play at least a one-off benefit of playing in Pakistan.

Vaughan has confirmed that New Zealand had asked the PCB to suggest cricket could play a role in collecting funds for flood victims, but said he remained opposed to tour Pakistan for security reasons.

No cricket team is not ready to play with Pakistan Vaughan said it was up to Pakistan cricket to organize fundraisers outside the country.

Umar Gul Remains Doubtful for Fourth Test Against England

Pakistan's experienced pace bowler, Umar Gul remains doubtful for the fourth and final Test against England, which will commence on Thursday at Lord’s.

Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed Gul confirmed that he is still struggling with hamstring injury. Gul missed the third test for the same reason.

However, Gul will be available for the upcoming one-day series next month. But, if the things changes then Gul will be available for the fourth Test.

Gul is one of most experience players for Pakistan, suffered a hamstring injury during the second Test at Edgbaston and was advised rest for three to four weeks.

Short Camp for India Probable ahead of OZ Series

A short camp of two or three day’s duration would be held for Indian probable ahead of the two-Test series against Australia commencing from October 1, Cricket Board sources said on Tuesday.

Aussies are due to arrive ten days before the start of the series, showing how serious they are in confronting the hosts who have maintained their standing as the number one ranked team in the world.

Ricky Ponting and his men are expected to reach Delhi on 21 September. They have four days practice session followed by a set of three days of game at Chandigarh from September 25-27.

After three days of rest and practice, the Aussies go to the test series in October 1-5 with the opening to be held in Mohali. The second test will be held in Bangalore from October 9 to 13.

Nielsen Appointed as Australia Coach

Australia appointed Tim Nielsen as a coach till the end of the next Ashes series, which is going to be held in England in 2013, the national cricket board said.

Former state-level wicketkeeper, Nielsen took over from John Buchanan in 2007, had helped Australia manage the 'challenging transition' following the retirements of top-class players including bowlers Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, Cricket Australia (CA) said in a media release.

Australia head to India next month to play the top-ranked test side in a two-match series starting in October followed by one-day internationals.

They kick off their home series with further limited overs matches against Sri Lanka before the first match of the Ashes at the Gabba in Brisbane on November 25.

Sri Lanka Won Against India by 8 Wickets in 5th ODI

Sri Lanka defeated India by eight wickets in the 5th ODI. India won the toss and chose to bat first; scored only 103 runs in 33.4 over for the loss of ten wickets. Yuvraj Singh was the only batsman, who has scored 38 runs. The rest of India batting was totally surrendered for Sri Lankan bowlers.

Sri Lanka has bowled really well in this match. NLTCS Perera is the leading wicket taker with five wickets. Greg Chappell Nominated As Australia’s Full Time Selector

Former cricketer, Greg Chappell has become the first Australian full-time selector after the nominations conducted by National Talent Manager Cricket Board.

Andrew Hilditch will continue as National Selection Panel (NSP) and Chappell will act as one of the four members of NSP.

The former Australian captain, who played 87 Tests and 74 ODI’s will leave his current position as CA Centre of Excellence Head Coach in Brisbane to take the new role, according to Cricket Australia.

Greg Chappell, who had a controversial stint as coach of India between 2005 and 2007, is looking forward to take up the challenging job.

Kumar Sangakkara Got Clean Cheat From Referee

In the recent match of Sri Lanka vs New Zealand, which was stopped due to rain in Dambulla? Sri Lanka captain, Kumar Sangakkara has fined between 50 to 100% of his match fee or else he should be ban for a test or two Twenty20s for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.

Initially, Sangakkara was charged with breaching clause 2.2.4 which deals with "inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between players in the course of play,"

The incident has taken place in the 27th over of Sri Lanka vs New Zealand innings. Sangakkara has hit the delivery of Nathan McCullum to leg side and went for a run, when he turn to second run he bumped into the bowler, who had his back to Sangakkara.

Nathan McCullum didn't like it and complained to the umpires and both had a words with each other. The match referee Alan Hurst says, "I looked at video footage of the incident from various angles and considered the detailed evidence of the umpires. I found that video evidence that was put forward by the player provided reasonable doubt as to whether the contact was deliberate"

Sri Lankan cricket board has suspended the bowler Suraj Randiv following the no-ball controversy, who has denied the Indian batsman, Virender Sehwag century during the match between India vs Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka team captain, Kumar Sangakkara has advised not to repeat such incidents in future. Sri Lankan cricket board says, "Suraj Randiv has been suspended for the next match against New Zealand and his match fee for the India Vs Sri Lanka match on August 16, 2010, has been forfeited,"

The decision has taken by the six man committee set up by the Sri Lanka Cricket. The board also stripped off the match fees of Randiv along with Tillakaratne Dilshan, who has encouraged Randiv to bowl the no- ball. Later, Randiv apologized to Sehwag.

The incident took place when Sehwag was at 99 and India need one run to win; Randiv is the bowler at 27th over. Randiv bowled a big no-ball, which denied the Sehwag to get his century. Initially, Sehwag was typical but later he said that Randiv had done based on the orders from his senior players. Let's wish not to repeat such type of incidents in coming days.
