The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon starts criminal proceedings against the IPL Ex Commissioner Lalit Modi in the financial irregularity in the IPL, a senior board official said.
Lalit Modi was suspended after IPL 3. Case will be filed at Chennai against Lalit Modi for alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act.
The first criminal case filed is various government agencies are investigating charges surrounding IPL and its franchisees.
BCCI disciplinary committee and enquiry commission collect the all evidences against the Modi and also conducting the hearings.
But Modi told to the board he is unable to attend the hearings in personally and he is staying away from the country due to “threats from the underworld”.
