The International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption unit followed an unusual activities leads Sri Lankan player after team members alerted their skipper to Kumar Sangakkara for his late-night activities with a man considered an illegal bookmaker.
Sri Lanka captain has followed the protocol by contacting the ICC anti-corruption unit. The player has been investigated by the Sri Lankan police.
However, Sri Lanka Cricket has kept everything out of the spotlight by concealing the entire investigation surrounding the player.
The player concerned has been under the ICC's investigation since the Twenty20 World Cup in England in 2009.
In the meantime, Sri Lankan Cricket Board said that they did not receive any official report regarding any player so far.
